Once upon a time...

http://www.poconorecord.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20100530/NEWS/5300348/-1/rss01

I know we've been beating this one with a wet piece of toilet paper, but for those that still don't know...the board is expecting for the homeowners of this community to be the ones to flip the bill for their incompetence.

to be continued...

OH, BUT FOR THE JOYS OF BEING A MEMBER IN GOOD STANDING!

$10,000 TO ENJOY THE POOL, AND THE PRIVILEGE TO VOTE!

IF YOU ALL DIDN’T OBJECT TO THE BLACKMAIL BEFORE! WHAT MAKES YOU THINK THAT YOU CAN DO SO NOW!  YOU ARE ALL WILLING PARTICIPANTS IN THE RUSE!

BY SHOWING UP TO VOTE, YOU HAVE EFFECTIVELY CONCEDED THAT YOU HAVE WILLINGLY ELECTED THOSE WHO ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SEWER MESS!

EXPLAIN TO THE JUDGE WHY YOU ALL DID NOT OBJECT, UNTIL THE $10,000 TAB HIT YOUR MAILBOX!

“STINKWATER LAKES,” SHOULD REALLY BE NAMED,

“SPINELESS-RESIDENTS LAKES.” - A POLLUTED POND FULL OF SPINELESS "DUES PAYING MEMBERS IN GOOD STANDING."

YOU ALL HAD PLENTY OF TIME TO ACT, HOPE THAT YOU ARE ALL ENJOYING THE "GOOD STUFF" THAT YOU ARE "STANDING" ON!

REMEMBER JUST ONE PERSON IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SEWER MESS.

GUESS WHO THAT IS!

Wow! Check out the latest comments on that Pocono Record Article about Stillwater Lakes...

http://www.poconorecord.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20100530/NEWS/5300348

Soon the reality will set in that it sucks to be a board member now a days; though I'm sure once the surrounding neighborhoods and boys scout camp decide to take legal action, they'll try to use more of OUR money.

"The cost will be shared between property owners and any loans available through the government. The price of repairs is likely to be immense, but an estimate will not be available until the extent of repairs needed is known, according to Jim Ott of Appletree Management Group..."  (http://www.poconorecord.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20100530/NEWS/5300348)

Hello!!!!!!! The homeowners of Stillwater Lakes already got an estimate back in 2006, Mr. Ott!!!
http://www.stillwaterlakes.net/pdf/sewerupdate.pdf

Cost estimate back in 2006 to repair sewer system is $7.8 MILLION DOLLARS! ...and that doesn't even include the $1.5 MILLION DOLLAR loan the board already took out for the sewer system, which would bring the "Shared" cost to well over $9.3 MILLION DOLLARS. Also like to mention that the act 537 study done to get that estimate cost the homeowners of Stillwater Lakes Civic over $100,000.00 Dollars to begin with.

That would amount to roughly a little over $16,000.00 DOLLARS per Sewer Homeowner, or down to just about $9,000 DOLLARS if the board decides to share the cost with the NON-sewer hookup homeowners. (Sewer cost have already been shared with these folks---why stop there)

Just an FYI since the sewer system is considered a "private corporation"  It can not get grants from government.  So the loans will be at our expense too.  Just to clear up the confusion he is setting in your mind

Just abolish the Association and its entities already!   I am sure that Coolbaugh Township would love to make money off of hookin up the Industrial Parks to the Sewer System.

Problem with this is that whatever entity that "takes over" the sewer system will want to recoup the $8million plus to get it fixed.

Look what happened to Winona Lakes when American Water took over their sewer system.
http://www.srmaws.com/Letters/3.pdf

...mind you, their increase doesn't seem so significant; however, the $8.5 million was divided by 3100 customers. There are only a little over 500 sewer customers here in SLCA to take on the $8 million dollar BILL.

...but wait! A large percentage of the 500 have been or are on the verge of being foreclosed on...leaving a much smaller number to divvy up the board's $8 million dollar mismanaged bill!

Hi Mike Dooner,
I believe the readers of this forum would like to here your ideas and position regarding this community.  I would like to see another intelligent candidate run for a seat on the board.  Although we are past the deadlines for running, you could always run as a write-in candidate.  Please let the readers of this forum know where you stand on the issues and maybe we can support you as a write-in candidate.

Dave, this link comes up blank.  Send it to my email.  Interestingly enough the Association was presented an offer as late as 2008 for the purchase of our sewer system.  The offer had a guarantee of, “No rate hikes for seven years+” (PMEDC).   As far as the cost of the sewer admittedly it is gonna be rough.  That is why it is so important to have the assessment insurance on your home.  The deductable will help ease this cost the Association will levey.

Additionally it depends on the receipt for sale.  If worded properly all Stillwater sewer customers can still have a share, (yes, share) in the profits of the sewer system (unless the residents sell their shares).  Just like investing in the company itself on your own.  Residents will also have a vote or say in what the hypothetical new company does.

That leaves the pool and lakes as entities only.  The township can make a mint having a public pool.  Our roads would all have to be up to spec. and Lakes and Streams will be monitored by the DEP and the DEP will be responsible for non compliance.  Finally not a double standard and one fee (TAXES).

I will be running for the Board next year look, listen and learn till then
